Cache 22 is apparently dry, making this a 30 mile dry stretch. But! "Joe Dirt" from the class of 2017 came out for a few days with a keg, a grill, tons of water, and plenty of other goodies. In 30 minutes he's making pesto tortellini for everyone. Fuck yea! Too bad there's so much smoke that we can't see shasta

Just got into old station. Free camping behind the gas station with a creek near by. Woop woop! New shoes await me next door in the AM. Went to a geyser this morning, was pretty cool. A guy by the name "bogey" decided he was gunna do a food challenge. 3 days with 3 full sized bag of plain Fritos and 1 full jar of mayo. Learned just now that he is not doing so well with this challenge. So much regret A post shared by Sean Staaleson (@seans.tall.son) on Jul 27, 2018 at 10:07pm PDT

Hanging out at a church in Chester Cali with a bunch of dirt bags. Power just went out, but I hope trivia is still going down tonight

Ready to be back at another lake. @bernt.goodson taking one last dive into Aloha lake before the sun goes down…btw, Sierra city sucks. Glad I don't have to resupply here. Just watched a girl spend over 100 bucks for a 2 night resupply that fit in a small hand basket…1.25 for top ramen, talk about price gouging. But I'm off to tackle 15 more miles. The ice cream craving was not worth the detour but I don't know how to time travel to take it all back.

Done with Brooks cascadias. Although they never gave me blisters; 600 miles yielded a 4 inch hole, an obliterated toe box, and barely any tread. Gunna give oboz a try, more of a mid weight hiking shoe. Comfy and feels solid…for now

Some impressive thunder storms came thru Reno this evening. Then I found a dope chalk art festival going on down town. Now playing some pool on a sexy 9 foot table. Reno isn't as bad as I remember. =) A post shared by Sean Staaleson (@seans.tall.son) on Jul 14, 2018 at 9:43pm PDT

Found a nice deep pocket in the river to do some jumps after we set up camp in the Sierra. Really cold but really refreshing. Fresh air, fresh water, fresh experiences…i wouldn't have this summer any other way

Saw one bear in the Sierra, just one. It was pretty young, curious, and didn't leave when yelled at so we walked right past it. Turns out someone was pooping 100 feet away and the bear walked right up to him mid poop! He panicked because his bear can was still open 40 feet away from him and he ran off to close it without wiping. Poor guy. On another note, the Sierra kicked ass. But northern cali is proving to be especially beautiful despite the mosquitos. Glorious sunsets every night and wildflowers EVERYWHERE! Gotta fix my tents zipper because it opens in both directions now and my right shoe has a 4 inch hole in it. It's almost a sandal. In south lake Tahoe for two nights, then I'll be in Reno next weekend. After that I need to average 18 miles a day everyday to finish by the end of September. Shouldn't be hard since I'm doing 20 to 25 miles easily everyday now with lunch, swim, and nap breaks included. Weighed myself in carson pass. I'm 204 now, down from about 230 when I started. Eeek, time to fatten up my diet! A post shared by Sean Staaleson (@seans.tall.son) on Jul 8, 2018 at 10:31am PDT
