Sierra Nevadas Found a nice deep pocket in the river to do some jumps after we set up camp in the Sierra. Really cold but really refreshing. Fresh air, fresh water, fresh experiences…i wouldn't have this summer any other way A post shared by Sean Staaleson (@seans.tall.son) on Jul 9, 2018 at 11:39pm PDT Hotel ice bucket? You mean trashy hiker salad bowl? A post shared by Sean Staaleson (@seans.tall.son) on Jul 9, 2018 at 4:26pm PDT Saw one bear in the Sierra, just one. It was pretty young, curious, and didn't leave when yelled at so we walked right past it. Turns out someone was pooping 100 feet away and the bear walked right up to him mid poop! He panicked because his bear can was still open 40 feet away from him and he ran off to close it without wiping. Poor guy. On another note, the Sierra kicked ass. But northern cali is proving to be especially beautiful despite the mosquitos. Glorious sunsets every night and wildflowers EVERYWHERE! Gotta fix my tents zipper because it opens in both directions now and my right shoe has a 4 inch hole in it. It's almost a sandal. In south lake Tahoe for two nights, then I'll be in Reno next weekend. After that I need to average 18 miles a day everyday to finish by the end of September. Shouldn't be hard since I'm doing 20 to 25 miles easily everyday now with lunch, swim, and nap breaks included. Weighed myself in carson pass. I'm 204 now, down from about 230 when I started. Eeek, time to fatten up my diet! A post shared by Sean Staaleson (@seans.tall.son) on Jul 8, 2018 at 10:31am PDT Posted by seanstaal View all posts by seanstaal
