Back on the Trail Was hanging out in the evening and cooking dinner with a guy named "radio" last night, 8 miles from a trailhead. Had some quality conversation with a stranger for almost two hours. I was up by about 5am, had the last bits of breakfast I had packed 5 days ago, broke camp and we started hiking towards the 12000 foot pass. It was really cold but the views took my mind off the suffering of numb fingers and incline at altitude. Got a ride to the first town pretty quick, then a hitch 45 minutes north to bishop. I don't know if I'll ever be able to give up this experience of long distance hiking. 2 months down and I feel like home is entirely in the moment…except I miss my cat. Poor Esteban probably thinks I'm never coming back. A post shared by Sean Staaleson (@seans.tall.son) on Jun 15, 2018 at 10:51pm PDT The view from my afternoon poop yesterday.
